Родился в 1960г. в селе Прислониха, Ульяновской области, Карсунского района.
С 10 до 12 лет занимался у народного художника СССР А. А. Пластова. С 12 до 14 лет занимался у Н. А. Пластова.
В 1975 году поступил в Ульяновское педагогическое училище на художественно-графическое отделение.
В 1979 году его с отличием закончил.
