Родился в г. Ковно (Каунас) в 1909г.
В 1929 г. Окончил Витебский художественный техникум. Затем, с 1929 по 1934г. Учился в Московском полиграфическом институте у Сергея Герасимова, Александра Дейнеки и Н. Удальцовой.
